What is Neck Pain and Headaches?

Neck pain and headaches are often connected, but either one can be an excruciating pain on its own. Common reasons for your neck and head pain are usually caused by muscle, nerve, joint, ligament, tendon, or nerve damage. A feeling or sensation of tightness in the neck could be simply because some muscles are compensating for other muscles in the upper body area (like Upper Cross Syndrome). Lifestyle factors such as lack of sleep, stress, and various other conditions are often blamed, however this isn’t always the case.

The occasional neck ache or headache isn’t usually a big problem, however if it doesn’t resolve within a day or so, then it is time to take prompt action and book a visit.

Even after a visit to your GP you may be asked to seek physical therapy for a hands on treatment that will encourage your natural recovery instead of the constant use of painkillers.
